After being active my whole life and competing athletically once that was no longer my reality I struggled to find the balance between life and being physically active. I was always relatively thin which meant for the most part I ate what I wanted to and very rarely worked out, and if I did it would be 3 workouts every couple of months.
It wasn't until getting a job as a youth sports coach that I realized health is more than just perception. How could I ask my athletes to do things that I couldn't do myself. So I began getting consistent in the gym, changing my diet from fast foods and junk foods to a cleaned up diet that supported my goals, to eventually becoming a vegetarian.
I went from working out maybe once a month to holding myself accountable to work out 5 days a week. I understand that it takes sacrifices to get to there you want to be and become consistent with it. I also understand how to make it feel like there aren't that many sacrifices that you won't make so you feel and look as healthy as you want to be.
